SUMMARY:ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor
DESCRIPTION:Course Content \nSRI has organized this training class to provide information that will assist your organization in developing and implementing an internal audit program as an important tool for your quality management system that meets the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 standard. This 2-day class is designed to assist students in gaining a greater understanding of the ISO 9001:2015 standard and using that knowledge to implement an important tool for providing performance evaluation to management that leads to continual improvement. The course is based on guidance from ISO 19011: Guidelines for Auditing Management Systems which is the basis for all ISO system auditing.  The course is designed for individuals who are starting their ISO and internal audit journey as it presents basic information and scenarios as learning tools. The course is fast paced with considerable student interaction required for success. The class is divided into audit teams which are expected to cooperate in learning ISO requirements and audit concepts and then using that knowledge in addressing audit problems presented in increasingly demanding scenarios. The class includes a total of 14 workshop/scenario exercises. The class is updated on a regular basis to reflect the latest guidelines for auditing from the ISO accreditation bodies. The latest version addresses new requirements including auditing for risk and risk management. While designed for beginners to the subject\, many former students return to refresh their skills and catch up on the latest auditing approaches. \nWho Should Attend? \nThis course is primarily designed for Quality Managers and personnel who want to advance their knowledge of the standard and internal auditing. \nPrerequisites \nAttendees are required to have read and are familiar with the ISO 9001:2015 standard \nMaterials \nAttendees will be provided with a binder of presentation material. Attendees are required to bring their own copy of the ISO 9001:2015 standard. Standards will be available for purchase during the registration process. \nLearning Objectives \nCompletion of the class will provide attendees with insight and understanding of the following topics: \n\nISO 9001 in the world and the U.S.\nISO 9000 definitions of Quality\, Quality Systems\, Requirements and Standards\nDeming’s Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) model and how it relates to the new ISO 9001\nThe 7 Principles for the new standard\nFundamentals of Internal Auditing defined by ISO 19011\nInternal audit roles and responsibilities\nInternal auditing to the Process Approach\nHow to write a nonconformity\nNonconformance versus noncompliance\nMethods for ensuring good corrective actions\nA basic understanding of ISO 9001:2015 requirements\nA working understanding of auditing tools and techniques\n\nHow to understand audit criteria\nHow to develop audit evidence\nHow to assess audit evidence\nHow to reach an audit finding\nHow to write a finding including a nonconformance\nHow to explain the reasoning behind a finding\nHow to conduct an audit interview\n\n\nAudit planning and preparation\nAudit roles and responsibilities\nThe audit cycle and documenting the audit trail\nProcess auditing\nAuditing and risk management\n\nOutline \nDay 1: \n\nIntroductions and Welcome to the Class\nQuality\, System and Standards\nHow ISO works\nISO Myths and realities\nISO Principles and Concepts\nISO 9001:2015 Overview\nWorkshop: ISO Geography\nAudit Basics: Definitions and Concepts\nAudits\, Criteria and Evidence\nAudit Findings and Nonconformance\nAudit Workshops: Assessing evidence and writing nonconformances\nProcess Audits\nProcess Analysis Model\nTracing\nDescribing Process Audit results\nProcess Audit Case Study example and workshop\n\nDay 2: \n\nThe Audit Cycle\nAudit Objectives\, plans and Preparation\nWorkshops and Case Studies\nAudit interview techniques and practice exercises\nThe Audit Trail\nAudit Meetings: Opening and Closing Meetings\nAudit objectives\, findings and conclusions\nThe audit reports\nWorkshops\nInternal audits and performance evaluation\nWorkshop exercises\nRisk Management and Internal Audits\nPlanning for Risk Audits\nConducting risk based audits\nReporting risk in internal audits\nRisk audit scenarios
